A strong grant application requires more than a great idea. It needs a clear plan for implementation and a strategic approach to finding the right funding opportunities. In this session, participants will learn how to transform project ideas into practical, fundable plans and identify funding sources that align with their organization’s goals.

The workshop will guide participants through the process of developing a realistic work plan by breaking projects into manageable activities and tasks, establishing timelines and milestones, assigning responsibilities, and identifying the resources needed for success. Participants will also learn how to distinguish between activities, outputs, and outcomes, anticipate potential project risks, and demonstrate organizational capacity to funders through a well-structured implementation plan.

In addition, the session will explore effective funding research strategies. Participants will learn how to identify and evaluate different funding sources, assess whether an opportunity is the right fit for their organization, and move beyond simply chasing available grants. The importance of building and maintaining relationships with funders before and after an application will also be discussed.

The session concludes by bringing all elements of grant readiness and proposal development together, helping participants create a roadmap for pursuing funding opportunities with greater confidence and success.
