2023 Annual General Meeting

Bear Claw Hotel, White Bear First Nation

Every municipality and non-profit organization (with a sport, culture/arts and recreation focus) in the south east is a member of our organization and is entitled to voting at the AGM (see attached voting delegate form). You can also attend as a guest! It is an opportunity for community leaders, municipal officials, volunteers and sport, culture and recreation professionals to learn about the work of the District and to meet with the Board of Directors and staff members. Whether you volunteer for a museum, art council, sport club or recreation/rink/pool board – you will enjoy and benefit from this event!

This event also provides as a venue for leaders to network and share. Networking is a great way to identify sport, culture and recreation organizational best practices. Learning from what others do is a valuable strategy for all organizations. Networking can help you stay on the cutting edge of technology and new business trends. These types of relationships and "inside" information can give you an advantage by implementing new and fresh ways of doing things. Come network!

Why Should You Attend?

  • Your presence at the AGM allows you to hold the board of directors accountable and/or show your support.
  • Amendments to bylaws are submitted to the organization by membership or the organization themselves in advance of the AGM. Use your voting power to impact decisions that are best suited for your community.
  • Attending the AGM will provide you with insight into the performance and direction of the organization. Your voice at the AGM will allow for key questions to be asked or concerns to be raised that help the organization remain on task.
  • Dinner is on us, and you have the chance to network and meet our staff and board team as well as take in our special guest speakers!
