So, you know Robert’s Rules in theory, but have you put them into practice? In this webinar, we will put theory to the test! Don’t worry, in this safe simulation, you will be a member of the board, but staged participants will be placed to recreate scenarios that are common in meetings. Wendy’s wealth of experience will help usher you through these scenarios using Roberts Rules and reviewing chair roles, quorum, motions, etiquette and potential challenges that could arise in an online board meeting. There will be a debrief after the meeting to discuss the challenges.
The purpose of this course is to enhance your confidence in how to navigate meeting tropes using Robert’s Rules best practices. This is a great refresher course for participants who attend in-person AND online meetings. Partially mock meeting, this hour-and-a-half session will also include a review of rules and an overview of online tools that could be useful in virtual meetings!
We would recommend that you attend Hosting Effective Board Meetings as a precursor to this course.

Facilitator Wendy Plandowski is passionate about sharing her non-profit experiences across Albert & Saskatchewan. While serving in different leadership roles at Lakeland College, Wendy was the liaison on over eight community boards. Wendy has enjoyed serving in the role of Chairperson for a variety of organizations such as the Saskatchewan Summer Games, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and Music Festival Association.
