It is increasingly possible to have contemporary art practices in rural Saskatchewan.
The adage that you need to live in large urban cities remains the normative practice in Saskatchewan, especially when you think of where most artists live and where grant funding goes geographically. This is especially true of filmmaking. In this Chat, we have two practitioners who go against the grain and are making critical and contemporary films in Southeast communities. Learn about what keeps them grounded in their communities, what inspires them, their new projects, and how they stayed true to their roots while receiving funding.
Join Morgan Kelly and Emily Ellis as we explore navigating professional film practices in southeast Saskatchewan.
